Court Square included in "Ad Book" by BFFA3AE
published by Badlands Unlimited

"AD BOOK" by BFFA3AE is an e-book that consists entirely of advertisements: for artists, galleries, publications, businesses, and anything arts related.

Through both open call and invitation, BFFA3AE received over 200 ads from emerging and established artists and groups from New York, London, and elsewhere. AD BOOK contributors purchased ad space based on a price determined by BFFA3AE’s own invented system of value. Each ad—like all great advertising—teeters at the edge of expression, promotion, and common sense. Taken as a whole, AD BOOK testifies to how perverse and diverse any self-respecting marketplace of ideas ought to be. With an introduction by ArtForum publisher Knight Landesman

In conjunction with its current exhibition, 'The Arrow that Quits the Bow,' please join Court Square for an evening featuring The Art Book Club in conversation about MyWays (Ways Books) by Rita McBride.

The Art Book Club, comprised of ten New York artists, is hosting its August meeting at Meulensteen Gallery to discuss their current reading, MyWays, edited by Rita McBride and David Gray. Pulling together numerous artists, writers, and cultural thinkers to contribute “chapters,” all of which are set in the  visual art world, MyWays culminates as an accidental novel that subverts our traditional ideas of narrative and literary genre while satirizing the sacred institutions of art and industry. Visitors are encouraged to read MyWays and participate in discussion whether they have read the book or not. Following the discussion, guests are invited to publish their feminist writings with pilot press....

The Art Book Club is a group of artists based in New York City who convene regularly to host member studio visits and to discuss art related texts. The club includes artists Inna Babaeva, Gina Beavers, Stacy Fisher, Amanda Friedman, Elizabeth Hirsch, Fran Holstrom, Saira McLaren, Carolyn Salas, Emily Weiner, and Letha Wilson.www.artbookclub.wordpress.com
